GAINESVILLE, Ga. (Oct. 1, 2013) ― Dr. Karla Reece Thomason has joined Gainesville Eye Associates as an Optometrist.
Thomason, a Dawsonville native, will serve patients at the Gainesville Eye Associates office on Beverly Drive in Gainesville.
Thomason, who is licensed by the Georgia Board of Optometry in ocular therapeutics, is a member of the Georgia Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, American Academy of Optometry, and the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists.
Thomason earned her doctorate of optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of North Georgia with a degree in biology.
In optometry school, Thomason was active in student associations and the community. She was President of Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society and Treasurer of American Optometric Student Association. She participated in a medical mission trip to an underserved area in Costa Rica and is a participating eye doctor in the Health Access Initiative in Gainesville.
